The burglary occurred on July 26, 2018 at 4:22 p.m. in Westbury.

According to the Nassau County Police Gang Investigations Squad detectives, the male victim, 50, opened his front door after hearing the doorbell and observed three unknown men.

The men were looking for a man who rented a room at the location, police said. The victim explained he was not home and the three suspects then forced their way into the house, according to police.

Once inside, two of the men displayed handguns and forced the victim to the floor, according to police.

One suspect stayed with the victim and the other two suspects went into a bedroom. A short time later, the men exited the bedroom and all three left the house, police said.

The victim went into the bedroom and noticed a television and gaming console were missing.

A thorough investigation was conducted and Julio Vasquez, 24, of Bridgeport, was arrested. Julio Vasquez is a Latin King Gang member, police said. Vasquez held the victim at gunpoint while the other two suspects, who have not yet been apprehended, entered the bedroom.

Vasquez has been charged with first- and second-degree burglary, two counts of first- and second-degree robbery and first- and second-degree criminal use of a firearm.

He will be arraigned on Thursday, Sept. 19 at First District Court in Hempstead.
